PLR | How to Win the Rewrite

You probably know what PLR is or you wouldn't be reading this. Even so, please allow me to define it anyway to be sure we're on the same page going forward…

In general, PLR is content you purchase that you may edit, claim to be the author, and use or sell as your own material.

However, be sure to check the rights file with any PLR package you buy because they are not all the same. Each seller can set his or her own terms, so the terms can vary quite a bit.

By the time you finish this series, I think you'll be excited about using PLR. Here's why:

  • When you know how to effectively use PLR it can help you create content faster. That can translate into more traffic, more money in your pocket, and a bigger mailing list.
  • Because you can download quality PLR on a variety of topics right here from our searchable database if you're a paying member.
Once you know how to use PLR like a pro, you'll be able to churn out quality content faster than ever!

But here's the thing…

Few people understand how to use PLR effectively. The key to using PLR successfully is to make it unique. Many, and most likely most people, don't do that. They use it as is, or make a few "token" changes. The end result is that their content is essentially the same as the content of dozens or even hundreds of other users . . . and then they wonder why it doesn't seem to "work" for them. It's not working for them because they didn't work it.

How do you suppose the search engines value an article on your site that's the same article found on a few hundred other sites? Hint: the article has little to no value with the search engines.

There's no penalty for it, as many purport, but it won't do you much good. The search engines will credit the content to the site where the content was originally published as best they can determine, and the rest receive little benefit.

That applies to articles and blog posts, but what about ebooks or autoresponder series?

You want to rewrite that too. You don't want to sell an ebook as your own that others are selling as their own. That leads to higher refund rates, and may even cause others to think you stole the content.

When you rewrite your PLR content, you'll create content that's unique—and better—if you add in your own ideas and remove the useless fluff. The cool thing is, you can do it far faster (and often cheaper) than if you created it from scratch. If you want to speed up the process even more, you can hire a professional ghostwriter to rewrite the content!

Then there are plenty of things you can do with your reworked PLR, including but not limited to:

  • Turn articles into website content or blog posts.
  • Turn PLR reports and ebooks into a series of articles.
  • Combine articles to create free or commercial ebooks and reports.
  • Submit articles to article directories (most won't except PLR so it has to be rewritten).
  • Load them into your autoresponder as a free course on your niche topic to build your mailing list.
  • Use PLR to create bonus ebooks or reports to boost the value of a commercial product.
  • Turn the content into hard copy products such as a print newsletter, short books, or CDs.
  • Turn them into videos or audios.
  • Add the content to a membership site to add value to your existing content.

Now, plenty of people cringe at the thought of rewriting content. But it's not hard, especially when you follow my T.R.A.N.C.E. formula outlined below and detailed in this series of articles. Even if it seems a little hard at first, like anything else, it does get easier as you gain experience.

What is the T.R.A.N.C.E. formula? Simply this:

T – Transform the article title
R – Rewrite and personalize the introduction
A – Add new material
N – Name new subheadings
C – Change the conclusion
E – Electrify the content
You may have an idea of what this is about just by glancing at what the T.R.A.N.C.E. acronym means, but I'm confident you'll make new discoveries as you read.

To make it even easier, I'm going to give you plenty of examples to get your creativity burning on high, plus you'll get template sentences that you can swipe and start using immediately to rewrite your private label content!

Let's get started. Next you'll discover how to turn titles into eyeball magnets.
