The caption tag allows you to set a caption for a table.
The caption tag is coded immediately after the opening <table> tag. In most browsers the caption will be centered above the table.
Here's a small sample table showing the caption tag properly coded: <table border="1"> <caption>My Favorite Songs</caption> <tr> <th>Song</th> <th>Artist</th> </tr> <tr> <td>Heretics and Privateers</td> <td>John Kay</td> </tr> </table> And here's how that table would appear on a web page:
