The inserted text tag designates text that has been inserted into a document.

It's usually used in collaborative works, and in conjunction with the deleted text tag.

Here's an example of usage:

Joe forgot a <ins>word</ins> but I inserted it.

That would display on a web page like this:

Joe forgot a word but I inserted it.
