The dd tag (definition description) is used in a definition list to define a definition term (list item).
Here's an example of usage: <dl> <dt>First List Item</dt> <dd>Description of the first list item.</dd> <dt>Second List Item</dt> <dd>Second list item description.</dd> </dl> Here's how that definition list looks on a web page:
You can use CSS to change the appearance of a definition list. Personally, I like to use bold text for the definition term. I think it helps people scanning a list to be able to find what they are looking for easier. Here's an example...
