HTML Help: CSS Comment
I know how to make comments in HTML, but can you make comments in external style sheets?
You bet, but CSS comments are coded in a different way, after all, they wouldn't want to keep things as easy as possible by being consistent! ;)
<!-- This is an HTML comment. --> /* This is a style sheet comment. */The text between the asterisks is commented out. The asterisks should be inside forward slashes. There should be a space before and after the comment. Do that and it should be okay. I say "should" instead of "will" because if I say it will be okay, sure enough some noodnik using an oddball browser that only 3 people in the whole world use will write to tell me the CSS comment blew up their microwave oven. Having said all that, have you thought about keeping a second file where you make your comments rather than inserting a lot of explanations into your HTML code and style sheets? It will help keep your pages leaner, cleaner and perhaps marginally faster for users on dial up connections.
