For some people, price is everything. In answer to the call to find the cheapest web host, I've listed the cheapest hosting plan I could find.

Now, I did rule out a couple hosts that I know offer terrible service, and I ruled out any plan that you have to pay for more than one year.

At just $35.00 a year, the Geek Storage plan works out to just $2.92 a month! That's hard to beat. If you go with a month-to-month plan elsewhere it usually runs $10 to $15 a month for similar features.

They offer a lot of disk space and bandwidth for the price, and with a 60-day money back guarantee and 99.9 percent server uptime guarantee, it looks like they are confident in their abilities and services.

The Runner-up Cheapest Host

While Globat comes in at $1.52 a month more, you can host unlimited domains instead of just one. They also offer unlimited disk space and bandwidth, so those might be considerations for you.

The Cheapest Web Host with Personality!

Fat Cow just misses the Runner-up Award by 39 cents, but I had to include them here on personality alone. From the "moo crew" to the Nutrition Facts, which is their hosting features list, this host is worth visiting just for the pun of it.

Hosting has come a long way in the last 10 years. Cheap hosting is no longer synonymous with poor quality hosting. In many cases you'll notice little difference between a cheap host and mid-priced host.

Even most cheap hosting providers offer a 30-day money back guarantee. Some offer a 60-day or 90-day guarantee. If it isn't working for you, you can ask for a full refund during that time. Not much risk if you look at it that way.

Another indication a cheap host can be dependable is to look for a testimonials page. If there are a lot of testimonials it's a good sign. If they're aren't many, or any at all, it isn't necessarily a bad sign though. The host may be lax at adding them, or simply may not use customer tesitmonials.
